Judging criteria for Ideathon

Your video will be judged by mentors by Innovation/Tech/Impact Index. All criteria are equally weighted (1/3). Presentations will be evaluated by each criteria on a 1 – 10 scale.

 

1. Innovativeness

How innovative / creative / unique is the idea? Was there a novel approach applied to solve the problem?

 

2. Technical awesomeness

How technically sophisticated / advanced / elegant was the solution?

 

3. Impact

How impactful is the idea? Can it impact the lives of many people in a significant way? Is there a business potential?

 

 

FAQ 

Q : What is the difference between Hackathon & Ideathon?

A : HACKATHON (2 days Hackathon - physical participation at the venue) participants need to present a concrete solution or utilizing NASA’s open data source.

IDEATHON (Online participation) does not require participants to present a concrete solution or utilizing NASA’s open data source as long as you have great problem-solving ideas for the Earth and Space.

 

 

Q : Can I participate to both Hackathon & Ideathon? 

A : You can choose one, or both Hackathon & Ideathon to participate! terms and condition applies as below.

*Hackathon registration will only limit to the first 300 participants.

*If participants are selected into Top 10 in Ideathon, participants then need to choose either one challenge to participate, either Ideathon or Hackathon.

Q : I'm participating in Ideathon. Can I attend to opening and award ceremony?
A : Unfortunately opening and closing ceremony is open for Hackathon participants only. But we welcome you to the TALK session! 

 

 

Q : Can I get free gift?

A : Yes, Free T-shirt & Sticker Collection for the IDEATHON eligible participants at entrance of Petrosains, called Hot Science.

Q : Last year I participated in Ideathon and able to participate at the venue (Petrosains). Can I join at the venue this year?

A : Unfortunately opening and closing ceremony are open for Hackathon participants only. But we welcome you to the TALK session!

 

 

Q : I'm not a coder or engineer, can I still participate in Ideathon?

A : Yes, IDEATHON does not require participants to present a concrete solution or utilizing NASA’s open data source thus non-engineers are welcomed!
Please note that IDEATHON will be online participation and Top10 only will be invited to the venue on 21 October 2018, Petrosains.

 

 

Q : If my team shortlisted Top10, what time is the pitch?

A : Registration at Petrosains 9:00 and your pitching time will be announced nearer to date.

 

 

Q : What is the minimum age to be able to attend this hackathon in KL location?

A : Hackathon, Ideathon is open for university/college students and professionals for KL location.
